Mr. Edmund Preciado Martinez
¡Buenos Días!
I am Edmund Martinez, the new ELL/ESL teacher at Russellville High School. At RHS, I also teach Spanish and English to speakers of other languages. I was raised in Vina, Alabama, and graduated from Vina High School in 2001. After high school, I attended Bevil State and received an Associate's in Elementary Education. I continued my education by attending Athens State University. In 2019, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have also completed a Masters's Program in Teaching MultiLingual Learners at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am pursuing Post Master's Certification in Educational Leadership, also from UAB. I am furthering my education to best serve my students better. My ELL functions also entail helping prepare my fellow teachers to work with non-native English speakers. I am Bi-lingual, speaking Spanish and English fluently, and am currently learning Portuguese.
My expectations for all my students are of excellence; I clearly stated it from day one. I'm engaged to a first-grade teacher and have three fantastic step-children: Katie- who graduated from Auburn University Law School at Ole Miss, Will is a senior at Auburn and Carter is a first-year student at Auburn University.
I am thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside some fantastic educators here at Russellville City Schools as we look to inspire and create life-long learners.
