Welcome to a new school year! I have been teaching at Russellville High School since 2018, and I am starting my 17th year teaching! I am the Programming and Software Development teacher, and I currently teach AP Computer Science Principles, Foundations of Informational Security, Exploring Computer Science, and IT Fundamentals. I previously taught at Covenant Christian School, Sheffield Junior High, and Sheffield High School.  I have a BBA in Marketing and a Master’s degree in Business Education from the University of North Alabama. I am certified in Secondary Business Education and Mathematics, and I am working towards a certificaion in Computer Science. I have taught a variety of other  subjects over the years, including Multimedia Publications, Career Prep, Computer Essentials, Algebra, Trigonometry, Business Math, Dance, and Drama.

I am originally from Columbus, Georgia, but I have lived in the Shoals for almost 20 years. I am a Google Certified Educator, as well as a member of the Association for Career and Technical Education and Computer Science Teachers of Alabama. In my spare time, I teach dance at My Girls Dance Center in Moulton and All Starz Dance in Flroence.  I have also been involved with the Miss America Organization for over twenty years, through judging pageants and choreographing for contestants. My family and I are active members of Highland Baptist Church, where I enjoy teaching Sunday School, AWANA, and Vacation Bible School. I have been married to my husband, John, for 19 years, and we have two children, Ella and Ethan. We enjoy traveling, spending time outside, and countless games at the kitchen table!

I am so excited to continue to grow and develop the Computer Science program at RHS! I can’t imagine a career in the future that won’t use technology and CS in some way!
