IT'S GREAT TO BE A GOLDEN TIGER!

Welcome to 9th Grade English!  My name is Jill Bonds and this is my 6th year at RHS.  I am originally from Huntingdon, TN, and I have a B.M. and M.M. in Music Education from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).  I am now working on my Ed.S in Principalship from Arkansas State University.  I have not always taught English.  I am a former band and choir director. However, this is my 8th year teaching English/Language Arts. The 2022-23 school year will be my 19th year in public education.  Prior to public education, I was a graduate assistant at Ole Miss with the Pride of the South Band. My husband (Tony) is from Russellville and we have two children, Elijah (11) and Annalesa (10), who also attend Russellville City Schools.  I am excited to explore the English Language Arts curriculum with all of the Freshmen!  We will have an amazing year growing as scholars!

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading all kinds of books!  I believe that reading opens you up to a whole new world!  I love finding new books and authors (so send me those suggestions).  I also love anything Ole Miss and a visit to Oxford, Mississippi makes for the best weekend.  And, if I'm not reading a book or cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels, you'll find me at the dance studio or the closest field cheering on both of our children.  They are active in sports and my daughter is on a local competitive dance team.  We are busy 24/7 but I wouldn't have it any other way.
