This year marks my twenty-third year teaching, twenty-two of those at Russellville High School. I graduated from Athens State University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language Arts. I accepted a position as English teacher at Russellville High School in 1995 and have taught all grade levels 9-12 at various times through the years. I received a Master’s Degree from the University of North Alabama in 2000 and an Educational Specialist Degree from Delta State University in 2014. Currently, I teach senior English, AP Literature and Composition, and dual enrollment English 101 and English 102. I also coach the junior varsity cheerleaders at Russellville High School.

I have been married to Larry Gilmer for thirty-three years. We have two sons, Slade and Chase, both graduates of Russellville High School. I am a member of the First Baptist Church of Russellville.
