I am currently in my 22nd year of teaching.  After graduating in 1995 from Belgreen High School and attending Northwest-Shoal Community College, I recieved my Bachelor's degree from Athens State University in 1998.  I began my teaching career in Lawrence County at Hatton High School.  After one year, I transferred to RHS in the fall of 2001.  I earned my Master's degree from the University of North Alabama in May 2002.

I have been married to Anthony Swinney for 22 years.  We enjoy spending time outdoors and vacationing with the Hollands.  While I occasionally accompany Anthony deer hunting, I mostly enjoy playing tennis.
