So glad to meet you!!!  I am Mrs. Paula Pounders, math resource teacher for Russellville Elementary School.  Even after 25 years in the classroom, I am thrilled to continue discovering and learning about 'how' kids learn!!  It's so energizing to watch students as they explore and investigate math situations, only to discover a solution using a personal strategy.  I LOVE the creative curiosity of children!!  It fuels the world!!!  Just a little info about me - My undergraduate work was completed at UNA with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Early Childhood Education.  My Master's work was done in Tuscaloosa, at the University of Alabama.  My career in the Russellville City System started at College Avenue Elementary.  I loved that old building!  Lots of wonderful memories were made on those well polished wooden floors.  Our new bulding at RES made for an easy transition, especially with the beautifully painted walls and all the space needed for discovery and learning.  I have taught special education, 3rd grade, and Title I Math.  My goal as a teacher is to guide your children as they strive to learn, equip them with tools necessary for continued growth, and support them as they explore possibilities and manuever hurdles.  If I can help in any way, I'd love to hear from you.  I'll be glad to share any resources or knowledge that I have gained from math research.  Best Wishes!!!
