My name is Tim Townley and I have been teaching Elementary Physical Education for the past 30 years. Twenty eight of the thirty years have been with Russellville City Schools. I teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Physical Education and I also coach varsity football and varsity basketball.  I have a Master's Degree in Physical Education with emphasis in Exercise Physiology. I received both my B.S. and Master's degrees from The University of North Alabama. I am a native of Winfield, Alabama and I graduated from Winfield City High School. I married the former Diane Taylor from Winfield and yes she was my High School sweetheart. We have two children. My son Derek and his wife Chasity (Trapp) live in Morris, Alabama. Derek works in Computer programming in Birmingham and Chasity works at Children's Hospital. They have one son, Cooper who is 15 months. My daughter Taylor and her husband Blake (Reed) live in Cullman, Alabama. Taylor works for an accounting firm in Birmingham and Blake works for an engineering firm in Decatur.

I am an avid Alabama fan (Roll Tide) and I also love music. I absolutely love the 70's and my favorite band is the Eagles. I play guitar in the band "Rewind of the Shoals" and I also play in the praise band at First Baptist in Russellville. I love going to the beach and just being on the water. My favorite thing is spending time with my family and playing with my grandson.

I think I have the greatest job in the world and I am very blessed to work for and with great people. I am honored to be able to do what I do. It's Great to be a Golden Tiger!
